imac slow

at start up Apple is on screen but wheel just keeps spinning - booted in safe mode - verified drives (ok) reinstalled OSX - restored from time machine

currently in safe mode - still have the same issues.

Open Console in Utilities & see if there are any clues in those Diagnostic Rerorts.

Especially one of the Dock crashes.

all apps initially say "not responding" then load several minutes later. there are several lengthy reports on "dock" crashes. Here is part of one. Is there something specific I should look for to send you?

You may have to download it again if you can't find it, but might try Find Any File...

Hold Option or alt key when selecting Find to Find All.

In System Prefs>Other,Right click on Rapport & choose Remove, reastart.

OK was able to right click and remove Rapport - restarted but still having issues. Apple comes up and then circle just Spins and does not reboot

Try doing a Dock restart using the following Terminal command:

killall Dock

Log out/in and test. If that doesn’t work, you need to look in your user Library/Applications Support/Dock for the .db. Use the Finder “Go To Folder” command. Enter ~/Library/Applications Support/Dock. Move the .db to your desktop.

Then try a dock reset.

Applications/Utilities/Terminal enter the command

killall Dock

Log out/in test. If it works okay, delete the .db from the desktop.

If the Dock is the same, return the .db to where you got them from, overwriting the newer ones.

Try posting another Etrecheck before doing anything else. You can also try booting into another admin account to see if the computer is the same.

spoke w apple care people. Ended erasing disk and re loading just OS - same issues. it appears to be hardware so taking it in to Apple Store. Thanks for all your suggestions it was worth trying.
